Florida bound

It's less than 24 hours and I will be leaving for Sunny Florida.  Catching up and talking my sister's ear off, and probably boring my brother-in-law to death.  What can I say they are stuck with me for 2 full weeks.  Let's see lots of walking off the pounds scheduled, shopping, knitting and of course more talking.....
Can't wait.

2010 Jean's stepping out of the box,

It's time to try something new I may be over the hill but not hitting bottom yet.  I stepped out of my comfort zone and joined a gym.  Yep! I did it and my legs are feeling it.  Going back for day 2.  Wish me luck.  I expect I'll be even be more sore.  You can follow my progress on Sparkpeople.com. my Spark page is JVALVERDE1

What a way to start the day.

Wow!  who knew a trip to the restroom would end up with a minor flood.  Here I am busy moving furniture around trying to give my computer a little corner of the house when all of a sudden I hear water.  Moments later there's water in my room and hallway.  It was just water, but still you have to remember I just spent the last two days cleaning.  I have the worst luck.  If I wash my car it rains, it I clean my house well it floods.  Well I was going to say I was going to give up cleaning, but now that I know that housekeeping is a good way to burn calories, I'll just have to cleaning up the flood and record burned calories.  I think I'm turning into a health nut.
I'm happy to report I finally found rain pants so now I can keep walking.

Alison lost another tooth

Alison started Kindergarden this year and is already loosing her teeth.  This is number three and the "tooth fairy" just rewarded her with 2 gold coins with a special note from the Fairy...

Soaking wet and stinky too!

Don't stand next to me,  I just finished a 6.4 mile walk and I'm dripping wet.  I was thrilled to see my back door,  I was so tired I could barely turn the key.  I looked like someone who had just run in a race.  My legs  were like rubber.  2 months ago I could only walk about 30 minutes before throwing in the towel.  I walked 2 full hours and burned over 800 calories.
